Vineyard Church Coronavirus - Update Letter 3/19/2020

Coronavirus Update

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT VINEYARD CHURCH WEEKEND SERVICES

Vineyard Church will be meeting exclusively ONLINE for worship services for the next three weekends.

We will NOT be hosting our services in our physical location. We welcome you to join us online for a fresh message of encouragement and hope from Senior Pastor’s Andy and Sharon Meade at www.VineyardChurch.com.

Our services will be posted at 5:30 PM on Saturdays and 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM on Sundays.

In regard to our small groups, we are letting our small group leaders decide if they are going to continue to meet. Our office is going to be closed although we still have some of our staff working in order to facilitate core operations in our church. We will continue to post updated information on our website.

A LETTER FROM OUR SENIOR PASTORS:

Hey Vineyard family,

As all of us are doing, we are trying to do the most loving and prudent thing right now in a rapidly changing environment. Last weekend we held our weekend services and provided a safe place for both young and old to come together. However, the CDC and our government officials have asked all Americas to refrain from gathering in groups of 10 or more people for the next 15 days. What does that mean for us? We’ll let me give you a few ways it is going to affect our Vineyard community.

First of all, we are going to go to all virtual weekend services. This weekend I’m going to talk how to live out our faith during this season of the Coronavirus in a message entitled “Love Does No Wrong”. As followers of Jesus, we will look at how we can integrate the safety measures being asked of us while at the same time growing in our faith. We are going to put them up on both our website vineyardchurch.com and our Facebook page @VineyardVA.

Second, some of you may be at riskfor loneliness, depression, fear and isolation. Those are also public health issues that we want to address as a church. What is important is that we stay together in community as a church. Reach out to people you know on the phone and find out how they are doing. Let’s all resist a spirit of fear and look for opportunities to help others around us.

Third, if you become sick or fall into difficult times and need help in anyway, please let us know.

We want to pull together during this time. Please don’t try to solider through this alone. We have some resources set aside to help those of you who call Vineyard your home church. If you are doing ok and would like to partner up with us, consider donating food to our food pantry. There will be a box located outside of the food pantry door where you can drop off non-perishables items (if perishables please call 424-4444). I would also ask you to continue to give financially to the church so that we can continue to serve our church family, our city and our world.

Finally, please pray! Pray for our government leaders that they would lead us wisely and well! Pray for those who are isolated or lonely! Pray for the sick and those who are at higher risk! Pray for our health care workers! Pray for the poor in our community, for those who are uninsured, for our homeless brothers and sisters! And pray for Vineyard Church, that we might be a voice of hope, a community of action, and a people of peace in our city.

Our prayers are with you! I look forward to meeting with you online this weekend, and I am so grateful for each one of you.

Love Andy and Sharon
