Alexa Young, CA

Interning at Vineyard has given me an opportunity to see behind the scenes of how Vineyard works, see how Vineyard was founded, and to learn the difference between mentoring and leading. I love the community Vineyard has as well as their heart forpeople. They do a good job of being a loving community and not allowing gossip. My favorite part has been working as a middle school girl's small group leader in youth. It has given me the opportunity to feel joy and connect with these young girls like nothing else. I am very thankful they accepted me and allowed me this opportunity."

"The Teamwork involved running a church. All the skills necessary to do with excellence in a gate of community. And how well people respond when you give them power of decision and voice. Inspiring others to share the same goals as the church results in loyalty and uncoerced excellent work. There’s a collective willingness to be involved in something greater than themselves and that’s a result of good leadership."

My experience as an intern at Vineyard helped me to understand the uniqueness of ministry leadership and provided space and structure to work on projects in whatever capacity all while I grew closer to an amazing community of Christ-followers I call my family. The most impactful part of my summer was being able not only to draw closer to female mentors but also mentoring girls in youth through small groups and individual hangouts. Overall I enjoyed working over the summer on building relationships and connecting youth to the community more while gaining an inside perspective on the workings of a church community I hold so dear to my heart.”

Gain Insight

Throughout my internship I got to experience what I truly loved doing. Helping. It was more than a job, it was bringing me closer to God, helping me make true connections with the people of my church and knowing what ministry is all about. I felt like it was a blessing to be given the opportunity to learn and grow on the production team and in myself spiritually.

Make an Eternal Impact

"Getting the opportunity to intern with Vineyard was a leap of faith that I am so glad I decided to take! During my internship, God moved powerfully in my life, allowing me to be loved and supported while learning how to pour into others, which culminated in becoming a worship leader and preaching for the first time. Thanks to the impact of the Vineyard leaders, I grew in the ministry calling I had previously doubted, leadership I hadn’t experienced yet, and a deeper love for God and people!"

"Interning at Vineyard has been an amazing experience! I have gotten out of my comfort zone and started experiencing practical ministry. It is a really amazing experience to see the “behind the scenes” of what it takes to put on a service!"

Build character&leadership skills

I loved my time interning at Vineyard Church! Professional ministry was something that I always wanted to experience so that I could further discover my God-given purpose! I can safely say that interning at Vineyard has helped me take another step in living out the life Jesus has for me. This internship also developed my influence and made me a more effective leader. The best part was the people I got to do ministry with. I will forever love and cherish their friendships."

“During my internship at Vineyard Church, I deeply reflected on the 'Jethro Principle' and its application in ministry. I learned the importance of knowing where I serve: if it’s with the flock, I should tend and lead; if it’s within the church, I should love one another; if it’s in the garden, I should walk with God; if it’s in the field, I should reap the harvest. Instead of threshing in the vineyard, I realized I should tend to it—producing fruit, cultivating more, and pressing it into increase. By telling a leader to serve, calling a servant a friend, and being a friend who lays down his life for others, I understood what it means to love and bear fruit worth honoring and speaking of. Among all the fruits nurtured during my time at Vineyard, I recognized that love—especially love for others—is the one I need to cultivate more deeply."
