 Vineyard Community Church has partnered with the Virginia Beach Correctional Center, home to approximately 1,500 inmates, through the Good News Jail & Prison Ministry. Our ministry implemented a 12-step Christian Recovery class attended by 10 to 14 inmates each week where they can receive one-on-one prayer. Once inmates are released, they can continue in the Recovery for the City program offered through Vineyard Community Church.
Volunteers are needed to:
- provide one-on-one ministry to inmates
- conduct or assist with Sunday worship services and weekly Bible study classes
- donate and distribute new Bibles and new or gently used Christian books and magazines
- provide clerical help in the Chaplain's office
Note: Volunteers are required to attend an orientation at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center and to complete an application.
