Hurricane Katrina Relief

Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, Louisiana in August 2005, we partnered with our sister churches in Louisiana, Vineyard Christian Fellowship - Kenner and Baton Rouge Vineyard Christian Fellowship to provide relief to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

In September 2005, we sent a team of nine people to Baton Rouge. Through the generosity of our congregation, our team took a 24-foot long trailer and a box truck loaded with much needed supplies for the victims. They brought everything from bedding to cleaning supplies, bottled water to roofing paper and chain saws. We also collected approximately $10,000 in donations and other supplies. While in Baton Rouge, our team worked on removing yard debris and rotted furniture from people’s homes in addition to handing out food to the victims.

In December 2005, we collected and shipped 230 shoeboxes filled with toys and goodies to the children of New Orleans. In April 2006, another team from Vineyard Community Church returned to help with home repair, house gutting, and cleaning.
