The Prayer Ministry serves to enlist, educate, equip, and encourage the members and attendees of Vineyard Community Church to devote themselves to prayer knowing that prayer is powerful and effective. Our mission is to make dependence on God through prayer foundational to our church and provide a solid prayer base that is purpose driven.
In implementing Christ's priestly ministry of intercession, we're not simply to carry the burdens of others; we're to carry them "away from" others just as Jesus did. As ordinary people the prayer team is representing Jesus, extending His work. The great healer "healing" through us; the great High Priest "mediating" through us; the great lover "loving" through us. All this is done through ordinary Christian people who dare to believe all that Jesus says.

Saturday Corporate Intercession
This team meets on Saturdays from 9:30 - 10:30 am in the sanctuary for a time of prayer for the upcoming weekend services and for the pastors and leaders who will be ministering.
Saturday & Sunday Intercession
Individuals are needed to pray during the weekend services for the Holy Spirit to move, protection for the pastor while preaching, that peoples hearts would be open to receive from the Lord, and for salvations, healings, deliverance, and forgiveness.
Saturday & Sunday Individual Ministry
Teams of 2-3 people are needed to pray for individuals after the weekend services. This is a time of prayer for healing, forgiveness, encouragement, recommitment, salvation, and infilling of the Holy Spirit.
Monday Corporate Intercession
This group meets on Mondays from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the home of Bud & Kathy Miller located at 817 Crepe Myrtle Lane in Virginia Beach. This is a time of worship, instruction, and encouragement. The group prays for the specific needs of the church members and pastors, our city, state, nation, and the world. Please contact Bud & Kathy Miller at 499.4858 or 761.5730 for more information.
Thursday Prayer in the Workplace
This group meets on Thursdays from 1:15 - 1:45 pm in the green room at the church to pray over workplace needs and issues as well as praying for the surrounding businesses.
Email Intercessory Team
This team receives the prayer requests of the congregation via email as well as urgent requests that come in during the week.
Prayer Walks
Prayer walks are scheduled throughout the year in various areas as the Lord leads. This is a time of praying for our church and our local community.
