IFH Vision Statement
When we think about our unsaved family and friends that we pray for each day we think what would we give up to see them come to the realization of the hope they can have in Christ! As we picture their faces, our answer is always...anything...everything!
This attitude of giving it all to help people hear the Good News and help people find and fulfill their God given purpose in life is what we believe touches the Father’s heart. We believe this is why he has given Vineyard Community Church so much favor. As we participate in the embarking of the Kingdom of God in regards to the mission God has placed on Vineyard, we impact lives for eternity. How exciting this is! What a legacy we are leaving here as we journey on this earth.
Vineyard Community Church is home to over 1300 people. We are continuing to grow with each year. In order for Vineyard to fulfill her mission to be a contemporary extension of the Good News to our community and help people find and fulfill their calling we must change the way we are doing business.
Last spring we put together a strategic management team to assist the pastoral staff in developing ways to insure that we continue to meet the growing needs of our church family. One of the first recommendations was to renovate our building. We purchased our building in 2001 for $750,000 and the church family paid it off in just three years with the "Building Together with Love and Sacrifice" stewardship journey. Our building is 35 years old and was originally designed to meet the needs of an athletic center. We don’t even have the basic ability to provide for the handicapped or elderly, or just meet the growing needs of our church body. We looked at both moving or renovating our building and determined that renovation was the better way to go financially.
The Pastoral staff also feels the Lord is not done with this building and this area.
Our architect estimates that if we would use the present space available that we could handle the growth of another 2000 people. Because of the age of our facility, the architect estimates that the cost will be somewhere between 2.5 million dollars. In order for us to continue to do the work the Lord has given us, we will need to raise this money through pledges over the next three years as we begin our renovation work. Our goal for this stewardship campaign,
"Investing through Faith for tomorrow’s Harvest", will be to raise 2.5 million dollars. This will enable us to receive the harvest that God has in store for us.
As we have gone in prayer for this project and the amount, we have felt like David up against Goliath! Yet, as we remembered our story from 1 Samuel before David took on the giant he reminded himself and those around him of the provision of his living God. That God had taken him through some tough stuff and always given him just what he needed to win the battles. We have a God who has shown us his presence and his power in our lives. Nothing is impossible with him. As we commit our ways to him and keep our eyes on him there is no doubt that he will once again use Vineyard Community Church to slay the giant and grow each one of us in our faith journey.
Jesus said, "...I tell you, look up and see the fields ripe for the harvest."
