Unique Challenges

It’s a great joy to be a part of a community of faith where the redemptive and life-changing power of God is operating. But these things haven’t “just happened”. Rather, for the last 12 years, hundreds of ordinary people just like you have sacrificially invested their valuable time and hard-earned money to build this church as a response of love, because of what God has done in their lives through Vineyard. 

God has done a significant work of uniquely preparing us for the challenges that lie ahead. 

• Our mission, values, and core beliefs are biblical and well established.
  
• Our leaders are well-trained and released to serve, using their gifts, talents and abilities.
  
• Our programs and outreaches are diverse and effective.
  
• Our church culture and atmosphere is very friendly and inviting.
  
• We have a long-standing track record of service to Hampton Roads and regionally to the Vineyards in Virginia and the Eastern Region.
  
• We have been relationally and family focused, not building focused.
  

As we look to the ministry opportunities in the days ahead, as we pray for God’s wisdom and guidance, and as we plan with our leaders, we are anticipating the next season of our church’s life to be one of increased fruitfulness.

This is not to minimize what God has accomplished among us and through us over the past years. It is simply to say that we sense God is going to multiply His presence among us and increase our effectiveness as we cooperate with Him.

Our first season of ministry over the past 12 years has been like a planting of fruit trees. The season just ahead will be a time for those trees to bear fruit, a time for our ministry opportunities to multiply exponentially, and a time for the planting of new orchards for the generations that will follow. That is why we have entitled our new campaign Investing Through Faith For Tomorrow’s Harvest.

However, please understand that we are a far cry from finished. In fact, we’ve got a long way to go. If our local church is to have increased impact and contribute to what Christ is doing in Hampton Roads and this local area, then there remains a great deal of work to do in the Vineyard.
